The challenge
A storage facility office is a small glazed room looking out over an open, unshaded lot — deliberately, because staff need to see the drive and the gate. That sightline is also an uninterrupted path for afternoon sun. The room heats faster than the air conditioning can clear it, and glare comes off the concrete straight onto the desk and the monitor.
What we did
Solar control film on the office glazing to cut the heat arriving through the windows, plus interior screens for the low, direct sun late in the day that no film alone fully handles. The combination matters: film deals with the energy, screens deal with the angle.
The result
The office holds a workable temperature through the hottest part of the day and the desk is usable in the afternoon without pulling something across the window. Staff keep the clear view of the drive that the room exists for.
